The current kitchen/dining/family room was formerly 3 separate rooms - a lounge, a kitchen and a storeroom with staircase access to the upper level. The ceiling is the original lath & plaster which has been limewashed previously, and some natural mottling is visible. Some minor hairline cracks in the ceiling plaster skim coat are visible along the boundary outlines of the 3 former rooms, particularly at the site of the old staircase.
